Known as the most cosmopolitan of Italy’s ski resorts, Cortina is an elegant town with an abundance of restaurants and apres ski nightlife. COURMAYEUR

Overlooked by the spectacular south facing peak of Mont Blanc, Courmayeur is situated at the end of the Aosta Valley, near the French border. Its history dates back to the Roman times, but has many charming medieval buildings and cobbled streets. Being so close to France, there is a combination of Italian and French in everything! The locals speak both languages and the shops and restaurants purvey the wonderful fashions and flavours of both countries. Excellent skiing, wonderful scenery, Italy and France in one resort!
