AUSTRALIA
Australia offers some great skiing and boarding for snow enthusiasts.
While the mountains may be lower than some of the massive peaks in other parts of
the world, the excitement and the adrenaline remains the same. Panoramic views, tree lined runs and plenty of
sunshine complements high country ski resorts packed with cosy bars, restaurants and on snow accommodation.
The biggest and most popular resorts in Australia are located in Victoria, in the
Great Dividing Range, and New South Wales, in the Snowy Mountain Range.
Victorian resorts include Mt
Hotham, Falls Creek and Mt
Buller. On snow accommodation is available at all three resorts. Off snow accommodation is available at
Bright or Harrietville for Mt Hotham, Mt Beauty or Bright for Falls Creek and Mansfield for Mt Buller. Mt Hotham
has its own airport located near Dinner Plain and helicopter mountain hopping is possible between Mt Hotham
and Falls Creek.
New South Wales resorts include Perisher
Blue and Thredbo. On snow accommodation is available at both resorts,
with off snow accommodation available at Jindabyne.
Cross country skiing is available at most ski resorts in Victoria and New South
Wales.
