JAPAN
Japan has over 500 Ski Resorts and of recent years has been attracting a growing
numbers of Australian skiers & boarders.
Its an exciting place to experience true hospitality, world class resorts and incredible
cultural delights, all just a 10 hour flight from Australia. A great value snow holiday, fantastic food, superb
service and facilities, combined with some of the best quality powder snow on the planet, makes Japan a must
for the serious skier or boarder.
The main attraction is the abundance of light, dry, snow found on the sub-Arctic
northern island of Hokkaido – which when coupled with the opportunity to hit the snow somewhere different
and to enjoy the Japanese culture provides a wonderful snow experience. Another plus - Hokkaido is very affordable
when compared with other parts of Japan.
Hokkaido is the powder capital of Japan and in Niseko
it almost never stops snowing.
Rusutsu is another Hokkaido powder resort, 79km
from Sapporo, with a European style resort hotel suitable for families.
Further south on the main island of Honshu, lies Hakuba
in the heart of the Japanese Alps, where sunny days are more plentiful. Hakuba was the site of the Downhill
and Combined events at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics and with mountains as high as 2933 metres in altitude,
the terrain is varied and challenging.
Japan is more than just a snow holiday. Its an incredible cultural experience wrapped
into an exciting snow holiday.
