MOUNT HUTT
Mount Hutt is the resort skiers keep returning to for its sensational snow and warm,
friendly aprés-ski scene. It has the most reliable snow cover in Australasia. With a high altitude (2075m)
and south-westerly aspect ~ it also has ideal conditions that attract an abundance of predominantly light, dry
snow. The ski season usually starts in early June and closes towards the end of October, almost always with
plenty of snow still on the slopes.
Mount Hutt is a big bowl shaped mountain, which caters well for advanced skiers
and shredders who find plenty of steeper off-piste terrain on the mountains side-walls and the renowned South
Face. Elsewhere there are gentle progressive slopes and well groomed snow, which is ideal for beginner and intermediate
skiers. Snowboarders are also well catered for with two half pipes and a terrain park on the lower slopes.
