NAGIGIA ISLAND RESORT

Located at Cape Washington, south of Suva Nagigia Island is situated at Cape Washington and is about 1 km off the South West tip of Kadavu Island surrounded by a lagoon reef perfect for snorkeling. There are many interesting walks on property and great views to be seen. There is reference "King Kong” because the famous movie was partly filmed underneath the mountain Nabukelevuira. This mountain is now known as "King Kong Mountain" and it overlooks the resort and nearby surf breaks. There are no crowds at Nagigia Island Reefs. Its very isolated and surfers are regulated.

SURF BREAKS

Nagigia Island Resort has 5 surf breaks, depending upon wind direction, tide and swell. Nagigia Island is situated on the northern part of the outer reef that curves around almost 270 degrees, picking up wind and swell from many different directions.

  • King Kong Left a 40m long wave that has a very deep water take-off, reducing risk of coral scratchs and making the break a fun ride.
  • King Kong Right This is often 6ft plus face height and on most days, the size is more. This is an exciting very fast tube for the more advanced rider.
  • The Bombi 10 minutes from Nagigia Island Resort by boat and can be seen from the resort deck. This break has not been surfed yet and probably needs tow in.
  • Middle Daku Daku is the Fijian name for this beautiful sandy beach. In the middle of the beach, 60 metres from the sand, is a coral break. It breaks both right and left but the right is generally better
  • Beginner Daku – beginners break
