WAVE PARK MENTAWAI

Wave Park is the original full service land based surfing resort in the Mentawais located in northern Mentawai near the Playground anchorage. Guests have exclusitivity on the entire island during their stay.

The ‘Park” is the best way to describe this resort, set in the lush green grounds in the coconut plantation where the house and restaurant are built. There is a garden of fresh vegetables, fruits and flowers surround the property which is a house with materials used from the islands.

All labour to build and design the house was by local people and has been newly refurbished. Wave Park has two special mascots…guard dogs Salt and Pepper who will protect you on a 90 minute hike around the island, known to tag team against rats, snakes, crabs and monitor lizards

ACCOMMODATION

The house hosts 14 guest at a time (4 per bedroom) and has a fantastic view of Hideaways breaking from the top bedroom.

THE SURF

There are 19 different waves to chose from and the resort has extensive knowledge and years of experience of hunting waves in the area including several secret spots. There are daily surf trips to breaks and other secret spots, surfed only by Wave Park on special swells. The Parks speedboat will deliver you to any of the waves within 30 minutes and will check multiple waves on each mission for the suitable wave.

GETTING THERE

YOu can fly in Padang and then to Rokot. You will be met by WavePark representative at the airport who will help you all the way to the ferry.From Rokot to the WavePark is another 90 minute speedboat ride. There are ferry alternatives from Padang, please check with us for current and up to date information
