The Stardust beach hotel is located in Arugam Bay in the remote South East of the Island of Sri Lanka, close to Pottuvil - an area few tourists visit. The hotel has expanded from rustic beach cabanas made with local materials to include a two storey wing of smooth architectural design that houses airy rooms. The development is tamed to merge with nature, For example, the hotel's eco-friendly purifying system ensures appropriate disposal of waste. Also, locally made clay bricks are used as floorings, which helps the barbecue restaurant blend in with the beach.

ACCOMMODATION

All rooms are doubles (may take an extra bed) and have fans, mosquito nets, repellants, attached bathrooms, private terraces or balconies. All rooms have sea views. The room charge includes filtered drinking water and a cup of bed tea in the morning.

  • All ground room floors have direct access to a big private beach garden.
  • Rooms on the first floor have refrigerator.
  • One family cabana for up to 4 people max

SURF TRANSFERS

Boat trips payable extra locally. The hotel has a land-rover and will often provide you with a lift but you will often find that a tuk tuk is the just as easy. The staff at the hotel surf and are happy to help you plan surf trips to the breaks

GETTING THERE

a taxi will meet you at Colombo airport (or city area) and drive you directly to Arugam Bay. It will be a small minibus, so a party of four people with luggage (and surfboards) can be accomodated comfortably. The journey will take 6 or 7 hours
